Why did we choose this story?
1) With its playfully spooky vibe, it's a perfect story to get ready for Halloween.
2) Encerrada presents a unique opportunity to demonstrate how even a lyrically-advanced song can be made accessible to all levels, even students in Level 1.
3) It's one of our best stories, but many teachers have told us they're unsure how to teach with it. We've now got you covered with these plans!

What is Encerrada en la escuela about?
A student falls asleep in the library and wakes up to find herself locked inside the school in the middle of the night. As she explores, she discovers that the school has more secrets than she ever imagined.
Encerrada has lots of fun twists and turns, and its playfully spooky vibes make it perfect for Halloween.

Why would you choose to spend 5 whole days on a single music video? Won't students get bored?
Not only will students not be bored, we bet these will be five of the most engaging days of the year.
Our lesson plans aren't about watching the video repeatedly -- in fact, students will only watch it twice! Instead, these plans provide essential input while building communicative skills through repetitive language, giving students long-lasting skills to discuss narratives in Spanish.

Yes! On day 5, the thrilling escape room activity will challenge students to solve puzzles, navigate distractions, and gather code pieces to unlock the password and escape.
